In this week's blog feature, we'll take a look at the concept of gratitude.
I could say that there are many definitions of gratitude. Some people believe it’s a feeling or emotion. Others look at it as more of a mood. Still, some folks believe gratitude is a personality trait a person exhibits. These can all be correct. But gratitude as it relates to faith has everything to do with making a connection to God and understanding that with Him, His power, and His grace, there is nothing we can't do. It's about relinquishing the need to take personal credit for the good things that happen in our lives and professing that He makes all good things possible.
At HGBM, we don't look at gratitude as an activity to be checked off of our daily list. Gratitude is part of growing your faith. It is a response that needs to be automatic. It can be difficult to feel grateful when life isn't going well, but we must remember that God is with us in the good times and in the bad times. He gives us an opportunity each day to use the blessings He has given us and to make choices that will help us to grow and when necessary, to heal. So, we must be grateful for both the blessings and the trials. They both contribute to our overall mission here on earth.
Tomorrow, we'll share more about ways to count your blessings. In the meantime, have a wonderful day and remember to be grateful for every moment you've been given.
God bless!
